JASON WU launch of MISS WU

CATCHING up: JASON WU announces the launch of his contemporary label MISS WU, a new collection that will arrive in stores starting January 2013. The relaxed collection has a downtown edge that integrates the designer’s DNA: Get ready for some 60’s inspired DOTS, whimsical prints and stripes with the usual WU detailing, at an easier price to splurge.  The face of MISS WU is model Meghan Collison,  shot by Simon Burstall.  can’t wait to see!- brigitte

“I felt that there was a place in the ever-growing designer contemporary market for these feminine and sophisticated pieces,” explained Jason Wu.

the 411 on what’s coming soon: whimsical prints, charming dresses and bold colors, Jason continues to use Italian fabrications for MISS WU.  The collection will include his signature “hand painted stripes” on blouses and skirts, with embroidered sequin circles and lace prints in tops and dresses.  Brightly hued tweeds dresses and jackets are trimmed with chiffon. The other prints for MISS WU include a “falling feather” print, a blue pop-art print and a photo negative floral print in shirts, shift dresses and A-line dresses.  Mixing in some feminine bow blouses , grosgrain collared shirts.

Partnering with Nordstrom for the launch of the new project, the spring collection will debut 40 pieces including dresses, sportswear and knits, retailing at an affordable $195-$795, exclusively at Nordstrom for 2013. MISS WU will go national |  international for 2014.

The face of MISS WU is model Meghan Collison. She will appear in the collection lookbook shot by Simon Burstall and a short film by director Todd Cole with Lori Goldstein as the stylist. Patrick Li was the Creative Director for the project.
