CURATED LUXURY LIFESTYLE FASHION ART and WELLNESS magazine NYC curating good vibes by BRIGITTE SEGURA

J.W. Anderson Spring 2014 LFW

Sometimes minimalism is key and J.W. Anderson wants to keep it that way. For his Spring 2014 collection this designer decided not to blur gender lines this time. Instead, he presented an ultra modern, ultra feminine mix. His line continues to be one of the freshest in the industry. Florals and short cuts for spring are a given, but this guy knows how to take it to the next level. Fashion evolution at its finest.

One of the best things about Anderson is that he truly creates ‘textural’ visual masterpieces. Starting out with delicate sheer baby doll tops and long skirts, they bounced with flounce and flirt. They were lined together so perfect to create fantastic blouson pleating, like tiered wedding cakes. So delicate, but still powerful with an added bite. His asymmetrical trademark showed in wrap skirts and top that were often short in the back and long in the front. His leather ‘shielding’ shoulders made another appearance and continue to be some of the fiercest additions seen in womenswear.

Standout looks were his patterned sequined skirts, pieces that are super beautiful and wearable. His evening gowns also struck gold, resembling layers of bottled whipped cream. Unique and refreshing, this designer continues to step up his game each season, with wonderful results. Instead of borrowing from ‘fashion past,’ he’s creating quite a bright future for what lies ahead for the industry. fdmLOVES J.W.
