CURATED LUXURY LIFESTYLE FASHION ART and WELLNESS magazine NYC curating good vibes by BRIGITTE SEGURA

J.W. Anderson Resort 2014

It’s fashion of the future. Jonathan Anderson’s J.W. Anderson Resort 2014 collection is so out-of-this-world. And we’re not talking about it in a bad way…quite the contrary! Not only has Anderson created a futuristic 13 piece set, he’s made one that’s actually wearable. It’s simple and elaborate at the same, which is probably making many designers wish they took a few more risks this season. He is definitely influenced by Japanese minimalism, and these tubular silhouettes show just that.

Anderson stuck with neutral colors of black, white, nude, and a splash of rich red and hunter green. He shows that simple colors can look exotic with unique fabric cuts. No elaborate frills or beading here…everything is cut sharply with an added bite. The asymmetric white T-shirt looks really great paired with a rough wool skirt, while the leather dress looks like something out of Lady Gaga’s closet. Check out how the white fabric folds around the body in two of the looks, almost like a fashionable shield. It looks (and feels) very utilitarian.

The puckered plastic top is innovative. The open cuffs on the cropped leather jacket are also an added inventive touch.  The different silhouettes on the black pieces look ultramodern. This line is for the adventurous fashionista and anyone else who wants to add a super unique piece to their wardrobe. Be daring, be bold fdmLOVES J.W.
