CURATED LUXURY LIFESTYLE FASHION ART and WELLNESS magazine NYC curating good vibes by BRIGITTE SEGURA

HUGO by HUGO BOSS aw 13 Berlin

Hugo by Hugo Boss kept true to their sharp silhouettes for aw 2013-14 at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Berlin. Titled “Reflection” the collection made time stand still through its focus on a series of contrast such as “past and future” that was visually embodied in severe and strong looks. Head-to-toe hot red hues created an eye-catching effect for a viewing enjoyment. The gazes of Clement Chabernaud and Hanne Gabby Odiele combined with the chic Boss designs created an overall look powerful enough to stop traffic effortlessly.

Deep v-necks were contrasted with high-necklines; with turtlenecks for girls while layered underneath heavier fabrics for guys. Breaking up the basics with pops of color- think in-your-face reds and bold black-created a vivid spectrum for autumn/winter. Don’t take our word for it-see Kasia Struss in a powerful crimson dress.  Mixing the mens and womens looks together added an androgynous touch to the collection; making chic interchangeable. Textiles in a range of metallics and muted hues played with each other seamlessly-giving even more reason to stand out.

For men, outerwear meant combining textures such as leather on the lapels and shoulders of wool coats. While women got voluminous jackets centering on the shoulders- showing how making an impression has never been easier. Placing a ruby bandeau underneath a tan pantsuit propelled the look into the future with the instant focus on color. With these high voltage hues Hugo by Hugo Boss has us ready to brave the season’s elements. fdm selects from the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Berlin catwalk by Brigitte Segura.
