Hervé Léger fall 2013 MBFW

Hervé Léger fall 2013 MBFW

Season after Season, it is easy to see that Max and Lubov Azria are consistent in their view of the established bandage dress (after bandage dress) for Hervé Léger. And then there was new fresh breath of air that was added for the fall 2013 collection… Elegant intertwined patterns avalanched the elaborate body-con ensembles with a now edge in styling.

We were surprised to see so many separate pieces this season, as the designers are usually fixated on creating dresses, and dresses alone. Who would have ever thought we would see sweatpants on the runway of a Hervé Léger fashion show, and not to mention they were slouchy, suave, and sexy, all in one; constructed out of the brands signature bandage material and enveloped with black and white jacquard motifs, the pants were just as fabulous as every dress in this collection.  We saw this type of pant being paired with everything from a pelt-blanketed hoodie to a figure-fitted crop top and every other coat in between. Besides the bare midriff exposed, this collection did not show as much skin as usual; there was a lot of layering, even in the dresses, almost all of which were long sleeved, and completed with a black or white legging, depending on the corresponding look.

Although neutral hues buzzed about the collection plentifully and safely, the clothes were not shy of polished leather, metallic threading, and embellishing, all of which added a playful disposition to the many “wild” and geometric patterns incorporated. A simple leather-trimmed baseball perfectly accessorized every single ensemble at the Fall/Winter 2013-2014 show. The Hervé Léger collection taught every contender a major lesson; you don’t need to show that much skin to be considered sexy.. and well, even the bandage can have a make-over.  fdmLOVES selects from HERVE LEGER fall 2013 runway by Brigitte Segura,  Written by Julia Paulescu.
