HAMPTONS live: Save The Music

Catching up: This weekend, VH1 | Save The Music Foundation raised nearly $800K at its exclusive HAMPTONS LIVE benefit concert at Julie Macklowe’s summer estate in Sagaponack, NY.  The evening was headlined by Jason Derulo with DJs Hannah Bronfman and Brendan Fallis co-spinning.

Derulo made the breezy outdoor setting into a true hot summer night as he performed some of his most beloved hits with a full band and five backup dancers. His set included Trumpets,” “Want To Want Me,” “Marry Me,” and a shirtless rendition of “Watcha Say,” among others.  VIPs celebrating included Bethenny Frankel, Bobby Flay, Miesa, Jenna Ushkowitz, LuAnn de Lesseps, Ramona Singer, Jill Zarin, Selenis Leyva, Eric Lively, Timolin Cole, Tiffany Trump, Jason Binn, Rosanna Scotto and more.

He was also endearingly eloquent about the cause of the night: “Music has always been a great part of my life, it kept me off the streets,” said Derulo onstage during his Hamptons Live performance. “I feel fortunate that I have this platform where I can speak about things that I actually care about — music is one of those things. All of us being here today is a testament to the great people that started this organization. Let’s give VH1 Save The Music a round of applause.”

The VH1 Save The Music Foundation is a non-profit organization dedicated to restoring instrumental music education in America’s public schools, and raising awareness about the importance of music as part of each child’s complete education. Since 1997, the Foundation has provided nearly $51 Million in new musical instruments to almost 1,900 public schools in more than 192 districts around the country, impacting the lives of over 2.3 million children.
