fresh faces at NYFW: Raif Adelberg
Raif Adelberg– This modern-day Renaissance man has design flowing through his veins, carrying his skills across the board. No matter what hat he decides to put on that day- be it an artist, fashion designer, MADE magazine publisher and creator, or even a gallerist- he still keeps his audience enchanted. For each, he has racked up an impressive background that feeds into his other passions. When not making his own artful creations and installations with The DB Clubhouse, Adelberg produces shows including: KAWS, SEEN, Ryan McGinness, and Kostas Seremetis.
Keeping one foot on the ground, this world traveler used his past circling everywhere from Hawaii to his native Bowen Island, British Columbia, to inspire his Vancouver Richard Kidd boutique from 2004-08, that Vogue and style.com listed as one of the seven wonders of the stylish store set. Never afraid to move onto bigger things, Adelberg catapulted a luxury cashmere men’s collection that garnered center stage on the men’s fifth floor section of Bergdorf Goodman NY after it launched in fall 2011, and has Carried his perspective into womenswear since for Spring/Summer 2013, (stop by Barney’s to get a look). We can’t wait for a view of the next thing Adelberg will be showing for fall 2013 at MBFW New York shows, scheduled for February 9, 2013. Written by Mary Anderson.
