CURATED LUXURY LIFESTYLE FASHION ART and WELLNESS magazine NYC curating good vibes by BRIGITTE SEGURA

FINGERS CROSSED ss16 menswear

Inspired by the striking colors of sunsets, the Fingers Crossed ss16 collection re-created a glorious color spectrum emulating the work of nature itself.  Models including Adam Butcher, Abiah Hostvedt, Brandon Bailey and raven haired Nyima Ward lined up in a light progression re-enacting the stages of nightfall.

Starting with rich golds, the collection progressed into hues of fire red, rich burgundy, oxblood, navy and eventually culminated in matte midnight black.  Desinger Ryu Hayama’s artful vision in layers ranged from sheers to heavy silk-like fabrications with added elements of texture, giving each look (an almost mysterious) depth.

The collection’s silhouettes were luxe and languid. Oversized outerwear, baggy culottes, tapered trousers, and boxy button-ups were both equally smart as separates and sumptuous paired together. Modern and youthful with a few added stars while remaining luxurious.  The presentation was a perfect example of the marriage between form and function with a young edge that has made Fingers Crossed one of favorite NYMD at NYFWM favorites for ss16.
