CURATED LUXURY LIFESTYLE FASHION ART and WELLNESS magazine NYC curating good vibes by BRIGITTE SEGURA

get some FASHION TIPS on TV

We fashion lovers have a lot of reasons to watch fashion shows on the runway.  It’s a fast flash on what the upcoming trends are on the runway. For the rest of us that need a little hint of what fashion is really about, we can catch in all on TV.  It’s even easier to be inspired by different outfits on the shows on “regular” people, not models, and recreate the looks.  Some shows give us a reality glimpse in how to become a model or a fashion designer,  and  give us a few hints for those dreaming of being in the BIZ.

Keeping up with the latest fashion trends can be a time consuming task, even with all the phone apps we’ve been using.  Following your Favorite TV Show for Fashion Tips may be the more relaxing and fun option.  There are tons of fashion shows that may be just up your alley.  Here are a few hints and suggestions:

Program your DVR to record all of your favorite fashion shows and you can get your fashion tips in no time. For the top DVR on the market take a look at SaveOnDirect, where you can pick up the DirecTV Genie and three free months of HBO… a nice bonus, especially with extra time on your hands during the holidays.

Here are a few of our favorites shows that are still so popular:

Revenge
If you are looking for high end fashion ideas, then this is a good show to watch. It features the main cast wearing amazing outfits throughout. There are different body and face types so you can get a better idea on how it works for them. The bonus here is that the show also offers a great plot line that will leave you hanging on to your seat and wanting more.

Project Runway
For those who love to see the design aspect of fashion, this is the perfect show. It features contestants who must meet a challenge each week with the clothing they create. At the end of the episode the clothes are judged and one of the contestants is automatically eliminated. This show has been on the air for 12 seasons now and is not going anywhere any time soon. Since the season has already started, you can get caught up on the show from the website.

The Carrie Diaries
This show is the prequel to  Sex and the City as it is about the main character Carrie when she was younger. It is no secret that Sex and the City was a huge fashion show for its time. Carrie is no different. If you want to know what is hot right now in fashion, simply tune into this show on the CW.

RuPaul’s Drag Race
This show is currently back for the fifth season. While it does deal with dressing in drag, which some people find inappropriate, if you are looking for something with drama, fashion and fun then this is the show to watch. Not only must the contestants look great in the clothes they wear, they must also be able to perform wearing the outfits, which makes the show even more entertaining.

Most of the fashion shows that are on TV are also competitions, which makes it perfect, giving us suspense and drama we all crave. You can see these people battle each other over craftsmanship and artistic ability. For many people, this alone is the reason to watch these shows. The good news is that there is a new fashionable drama each season,  and you can usually catch them during the fall and winter.  Perfect for cozy time.
