Fashion for Action 2014
The spirit of giving is here with Fashion for Action’s 11th annual charity fashion event. Join (co-chairs) Zac Posen and John Varvatos for an evening of shopping for a great cause. Over 200 brands participate in the event offering amazing pieces at a discount. This season, Libertine’s glitz and glammed out blazer, a one of a kind designed just for Fashion for Action will be auctioned.
The party kicks off on November 20th with host Bevy Smith leading the way. Guests can partake in exclusive shopping while enjoying music courtesy of MICK. Shoppers will receive excellent deals of 50%-70% off of desirable brands including Issey Miyake, Libertine, and tons more. Proceeds benefit the Housing Works organization. Housing Works’ Youth Outreach program is dedicated to HIV-prevention and treatment service for young people living with HIV/AIDS or who are at risk of infection.
Thanks to the help of Fashion for Action and charitable fashion acts supported by dozens of fashion’s most sought after designers, the benefit has raised close to $5 million dollars to aid in the fight against HIV/AIDS.
Though it’s better to give than to receive but with a night like Fashion for Action you can get double the pleasure. Tickets are still available. For those eager to help out even sooner or unable to attend the event, Fashion for Action will have a silent auction running from November 13-December 4 exclusively on Charitybuzz. Participants will have the opportunity to bid on entertainment, travel, and luxury gift packages.
A wonderful opportunity to join the downtown tradition where New York’s fashion community + charity come together for a fun shopping time and extend a hand to the HIV/AIDS and LGBT community. Here’s a peek of what’s coming. Fashion for Action 2014 written by Andrea Porro.
