FALGUNI & SHANE PEACOCK SPRING 2013

The fabulous designing duo of Falguni & Shane peacock never cease to amaze the highly, futuristically fashion forward crowds that flood their shows each season. Spring 2013’s front row attendees for the show held at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week included Adam Lambert, Paris Hilton, Louise Roe, Charlotte Ross, Julia Alison, Jeremy Dawson and Carah Faye Charnow of the band Shiny Toy Guns, along with Alex McCord and Simon Van Kempen. 

Who knew a fashion show could turn the tents of Lincoln Center into a space odyssey? The show opened in complete darkness while an eerie set of dub-step played. During this time three models walked down the runway, one in front of the other as if they were possessed by the music. They wore couture-like plastic space cadette helmets as lights quickly flashed all around. After this intergalactic spectacle was complete, the real show began!

Falguni + Shane Peacock’s Spring collection consisted of garments with heavy detail to ornate embellishments consisting of sequins, crystals, feathers, intricate pleating and paneling, mirrors, lace and laser-cut cutouts. Overindulgent kaleidoscope-like prints took over most of the collection. And if that wasn’t enough, there were some added touches of jewelry from Ben-Amun, and the amazing sunnies by MERCURA nyc. Each print was strategically placed and printed on bodysuits, dresses, and leotards in combinations of deep and bright shades of purples, blues, and greens. Although otherworldly and costume-like, the collection was on trend for spring/summer 2013 staying true to patterns such as form fitting dresses, peplums, and sheer mullet skirts; just to name a few. All of these opulent textures and design elements are what make Falguni + Shane such cutting edge designers.
