Ellery Pre-Fall 2014
Here’s a taste of Ellery’s Pre-Fall 2014 collection, consisting of just about every style and taste imaginable. Designer Kym Ellery knows how to make fashion contradictions work. And we mean ‘contradictions’ in the best way possible. This collection is full of masculine and feminine infused silhouettes, soft and dark colors and looks that will have you bundling up and letting loose at the same time.
It’s a set that’s a ‘going away’ party for summer. Although it embraces the summertime aesthetic, it’s also waving hello to fall. Love it.
Satin is striking in dark shades, especially on short mini dresses. Coats are high-collared and fabulous, with gorgeous heeled sandals really touching our summertime souls. A gorgeously romantic navy and plum dress incorporates different proportions with ease. An example of those perfect contractions: a tailored top with a free-flowing skirt bottom. Ellery was inspired by the inner workings of traditional garments…so think upright posture and funnel collars, all flowing together in perfect harmony.
The light shades are feminine and sweet, especially in an off-the-shoulder top and skirt number. A maroon leather jacket with slanted zipper accessories must be mentioned too. So refreshing to see leather in that shade. Simply lovely. fdmLOVES ELLERY Pre-Fall 2014 selects by Brigitte Segura, written by Allison Ripa.
