Dsquared2 Menswear Spring 2014 Delivers A Cool Castaway

Jumping out of an 1950’s action movie and onto the runway, designers Dan and Dean Caten showcase a lad that will brave any wilderness. Even crash landing on a mysterious island doesn’t get the Dsquared2 man down for spring 2014. Lots of looks mixed function with fashion for a happy medium. Meaning military boots and wilderness hats that are perfect for exploring while the popping color palette of pastels makes sure you’re the king of the jungle.

The slouchy trouser in a variety of fabrics gives that easygoing fashiondailymag edge, while several shirtless looks are accented with piles of beaded necklaces. The brand’s biker boy also has an understated return this season, this time as James Dean, as moments of quilted leather moto jackets make a brief appearance. As the last suited fellow left the runway with a parrot perched atop his shoulder, the Dsquared2 guy is finally one with nature.

Foliage is full force in this collection. A series of forest green looks have a leaflike texture in waterproof fabric, while others rock the head to toe leaf patterns.  Bright floral motifs are plastered onto short swim trunks that relate to the 50’s era cool. Although for more current city slicker looks, lots of leather is available. From a leather jacket in zebra print to a denim jacket with leather red sleeves and also a neon pink version, the spring 2014 man isn’t compromising on quality, even when he’s lost !

Although though the Dsquared2 guy is stranded, suiting is a must ! Single and double breasted jackets are adorned with blooming flowers in place of pocket squares. Pairing the blazers with swinging shorts gives an overall lax attitude. Trousers hit at the ankle or above, making sure your dapper looks don’t get dirty. Broken down, the collection offers several closet staples in a spectrum of colors that will let you stand out for the spring 2014 season.
