CURATED LUXURY LIFESTYLE FASHION ART and WELLNESS magazine NYC curating good vibes by BRIGITTE SEGURA

Dsquared2 aw13 Milan

Dean and Dan of Dsquared2 flashed back to the jazz age of the 1940s with a fall 2013 collection that swept us to another era at Milan Fashion Week. The Caten brothers favor trusty suits and denim to no end,  but who knew this tailoring two-some would do such a nice job with evening-ish wear.  The winning cast of girls on the catwalk included Cara Delevingne, Lindsey Wixson, Daphne Groenveld and fresh face Tshecaall strutting the Dsquared2 sass to our delight.

Gowns trailed the runway in a romantic sway, with jewels decorating hanging necklines and delicately lined fluttery fabrics endlessly. Of course, some of the pieces featured the label’s signature tailoring with zaps of pink and yellow. Cara (Delevingne) was all Bowler Hat and Bow-tuxed, sporting a DB blazer and tapered trousers, while new face Tsheca owned the fab  jolt of yellow layered over a menswear suit we loved, and Daphne was working the smokin’ attitude, cigarette holder and all.

The beautiful color palette in this collection mirrored the era in using silky blues, faded olives, modest purples, perfect plumes and bold reds, all emphasized with metallic fabricated details. The dresses were just as abundant as the pants, a bit out of the norm for DSquared2, but the BOLD attitude prevailed.  Hints of “Breakfast at Tiffanys” were an added bonus with layered jabots, pimped up undos, holders, bold jewelry, peep-toe pumps, taking the cake for fun and a hint of flash on the runway. fdmLOVES Dsquared2 fall 2013 selects by Brigitte Segura, written by Julia Paulescu.
