CURATED LUXURY LIFESTYLE FASHION ART and WELLNESS magazine NYC curating good vibes by BRIGITTE SEGURA

Damir Doma resort 2014

Damir Doma stepped away from his modern gothic aesthetic for his Resort 2014 collection. Dark hues are featured but the color palette is more subtle, softer than what we’re used to from this designer. The silhouettes are long, sleek and so attractive on the strutting models. He even included the new “it” skirt length that’s trending this season. The midi length (slightly below the knee) is taking the place of long boho and mini skirts. It’s a mature length that’s evolving with the modern female shopper. As she grows up, so do the silhouettes…and they look so now.

Doma set this collection up in a strategic, beautiful way. The indigo, deep pink, and pretty color blocking pieces came first like an ode to femininity. Next were his all-white ensembles that breathe modern delicacy. The kimono sleeves on a few of the dresses show Eastern influence. The remaining looks were his classic darker pieces in black, gray and tan. A single cropped orange top with faded high black trousers was a surprise splash of color. Stripes made an appearance on a few of the looks and felt contemporary. Young with a little bit of edge.

There’s a few short and long playsuits that look fiery. Two white and black dresses feature futuristic pocket cuts that are ruched in the middle. Lots of influences are evident in this set but it still looks so cohesive. Proving to never settle for just one vision, Doma shines. fdmLOVES DAMIR DOMA resort 2014 selects by Brigitte Segura, written by Allison Ripa
