Damir Doma Menswear spring 2014
Loose fitting relaxed looks guided the overall mood on the runway at designer Damir Doma’s Spring 2014 collection showing in Paris. The unadulterated components that came into play with the variety of graphic and textural beginnings create a collage of wonderment. A plethora of menswear trends are represented as the various fundamental elements combine for a clean cool.
The first few looks were striking in all white that transforms the ensembles into fresh with boxy jumpsuits or trench coats. The constructed aesthetics continued to flow throughout as did monochromatics like the memorable tailored black and white over sized patterned suit jackets. The palette consisted of white, Yves Klein blue, amethyst and khaki that together and interesting geometric patchwork of different textiles and colors seen on a blazer jacket is easily paired with a robust tone of royal blue gave a twist to a portion of the looks on the runway.
A burst of artsy prints were adorned on an unconstrained jacket that came alive on a vibrant tone. Interestingly the high-waisted pants are carefully contoured in a very masculine way. This season was a prime example of what the future holds for menswear. fdmLOVES DAMIR DOMA Menswear spring 2014 selects by Brigitte Segura, written by Natalie Barry.
