CZAR by Cesar Galindo SPRING 2014
We went back to the future at Czar by Cesar Galindo’s sci-fi inspired collection for which Lady Gaga was among the celebrities that made an appearance. Metallic make up, slick techno pony tails, and bicycles completed the futuristic scene. Centered on the themes of virtual travel mixed with an athletic edge it’s designed for women with a fast-paced lifestyle.
From an iridescent mini-dress to a flowing, fuchsia cocktail number, Galindo hit the mark in delivering a range of youthful pieces.
Printed rompers were a staple and key trends included boxy fits, bold colors and blended prints, which combined delivered a look of laid-back glam. Shimmery sequins adorning a monochromatic white shift dress with mesh collared details provided an update on the mermaid trend. From bold, brightly colored, billowy maxidresses to delicate, chiffon slip cocktail dresses in an array of oceanic blues.
A standout was a strapless, layered maxidress covered in a kaleidoscopic print of pinks and white, with a touch of black. Regal, pleated dresses in primary blue, pink and black were also on display, with wind fans helping to create a billowy effect to promote the collection’s easy-to-wear appeal. fdmLOVES CZAR SPRING 2014 selects by Brigitte Segura, written by Khia Mercer.
