Couture and Cuisine: looking back at Cannes food

From Film premieres,  Celebrity Fashion to gourmet food, the 2013 Cannes Film Festival sure does satisfy cravings. All of the celebs have now paraded down the red carpet, so it’s time for these delectable desserts to take center stage. From the Opening Night Gala to an exclusive Grand Jury meal, Award-winning chefs Bruno Oger and Anne-Sophie Pic pulled out all the stops.  Film frontrunners such as Steven Spielberg, Leonardo Dicaprio, Carey Mulligan, Nicole Kidman, Ang Lee, and Christopher Waltz were just the tip of the iceberg for these star-studded feasts.

These colorful creations look too good to eat-but hey, we all have a sweet tooth. From splashes of yellow to an array of fresh fruit, the gourmet was definitely in tune with the standout spectrum obsession for this hot season. As the starlets settled in at the Electrolux Agora Pavilion, the cuisine provided a surprising accent to their attire. Take note of the attention-grabbing ruby reds, iridescent oranges, and popping prints on these platters, as it harkens back to the bold looks that the Cannes celebs displayed.

Although the 66th Cannes Film Festival has now come to a close, fashion and the feasts will long be remembered. This annual event has definitely united the best of international talent not only within film, but also, cuisine.
