Converse x Maison Martin Margiela Collab
Creativity runs rampant with this brand new collab. Converse Inc. and avant-garde French fashion house Maison Martin Margiela have a little something up their sleeves…or feet rather! The two powerhouse companies joined forces and are releasing a line of hand-painted Chuck Taylors and Jack Purcell sneakers, all with signature MMM iconic white overpaint.
As the sneaks are worn, they eventually start shedding either outer white layer to reveal original, exciting colors underneath. Each pair is all original, super unique.
“Converse is thrilled to partner with Maison Martin Margiela. The collection perfectly embodies each brand’s spirit of individuality and self-expression unifying Converse and Margiela’s conviction of unleashing creativity.” — Matt Sleep, Converse Senior First String Designer.
MMM‘s known for changing the original use and movements of garments, bending the classic notions of fashion. Converse is known for letting creativity run wild with their footwear. It’s a match made in shoe heaven. The white outer layer represent a blank canvas, while the color surprise underneath is like a hidden personality. Just needs some wear to show. The styes are available in four colors: red, black, navy, and Margiela-exclusive vintage yellow.
Shoes will be available to purchase in select MMM stores and Converse First String retailers this September. A definite artsy ‘must have.’ fdmLOVES CONVERSE x MAISON MARTIN MARGIELA collab selects by Brigitte Segura, written by Allison Ripa.
