CURATED LUXURY LIFESTYLE FASHION ART and WELLNESS magazine NYC curating good vibes by BRIGITTE SEGURA

Concept Korea Spring 2014

Concept Korea kicked off with a captivating Pixar-style movie animation digital sprayed on the back wall above the catwalk. The electronic concert light provided the perfect introduction as the mixed show prove once again an effective format. Four featured designers were selected in an effort to expose the talented Korean fashion designers to the U.S. market.

Avant Garde was the overarching theme in Kaal E. Suktae’s Biblical-inspired collection, which featured a black and white looks with cut outs and pleated skirts. Case in point: a hybrid one piece and printed jacket and rider black top teamed with a white pleated bottom combination and white wedge heel sneakers. Choiboko by Choi Bo Ko let loose a punk rock collection and big acid colored hair, complete with banging hip hop beats reminiscent of the Lower East Side 80’s club scene. A rooster and flower printed denim-patched long jacket and pink and yellow short with printed leggings rocked.

Inspired by the concept of men working out at the gym, Beyond Closet by Ko Tae Yong delivered a series of looks which mastered the art of color blocking to perfection. Stunning in a grey, blue, and beige overlay coat with a fitted light yellow button down. Drawing inspiration from a folk art painting of a free-moving phoenix, Big Park by Park Youn Soo closed the show with an array of feminine silhouettes in power-pink hues. Pleated leather jackets with digital geometric prints were wining combos.  CONCEPT KOREA SPRING 2014 written by Khia Mercer.
