CURATED LUXURY LIFESTYLE FASHION ART and WELLNESS magazine NYC curating good vibes by BRIGITTE SEGURA

CHALAYAN spring 2014 PFW

Has there ever been a line so exquisitely constructed? Chalayan soars from season to season, and this Spring 2014 collection is no different. Designer Hussein Chalayan sculpts his clothes into pure perfection. With obvious technical ingenuity, he turned out the most charming and loveliest set to be had during Paris Fashion Week. It’s a kiss to summertime, not goodbye, but hello. Can we just skip over winter and go right back to warmer weather?

Not many can beat a line like this. From beginning to end, this designer cleverly showed a line that’s not only attractive, but wearable. From adorable towel-wrap dresses in blue and white stripes, to calming loose-fitting white pieces, there’s a sense of pure serenity here. The wrapped-towel look appeared most popular here and really stood out beautifully. Feel that tropical island breeze in your hair, mojito in hand. The very popular tropical print appeared on dresses too, but in a sweet ‘blurred’ variation. The sheer effect is used how it should be, as it delicately wraps around legs in all-white and black styles. So gorgeous.

As the collection reached its end, it never once faltered. A black dress with a sweetheart neckline felt oh so romantic while the last few looks incorporated the Chalayan craftsmanship. Colorful vinyl details, resembling feathers, accented dresses and the inside lining of a long white coat. Plus, the hats on sticks? Brilliant! Really something special. fdmLOVES CHALAYAN Spring 2014 selects by Brigitte Segura, written by Allison Ripa.
