CELEBS + friends celebrate US OPEN tennis

A little champagne celebration for the US Open:  Julie HendersonRebecca MinkoffOlivia Palermo, and boyfriend Johannes Huebl, competed in friendly matches of tennis at the first annual Moet & Chandon Tiny Tennis Invitational.   Hanging out at the [grassy rooftop] of The Standard Hotel, exhibition players including Henderson, Minkoff, Palermo, Huebl, Horacio Silva and Bee-Shyuan Chang faced off against each other and guests, while VP of Moet & Chandon Ludovic du Plessis watched on with referee tennis legend Jim Courier.  of course the Guests sipped Moet & Chandon Imperial champagne, the official champagne of the US Open, when not taking to the court to show off their tennis skills.

a fashion win?  Du Plessis wowed the crowd when he beat former number one US great Courier, but lost in the finals to Palermo, who took home the title of “Tiny Tennis” winner, and her very own Moet Jeroboam, crystalized with her name.   Palermo’s win only fueled Du Plessis’ hunger for true (not tiny) tennis, as he raced over to Moet‘s suite at the US Open to watch Serena Williams win her match, while entertaining actress Amanda Seyfried, who spent the evening taking in tennis from the suite.

side note:  Amanda added  ‘her signature’ in support of the tennis charity USTA, [a crystalized US Open Moet Jeroboam bottle] also signed by Susan SarandonAlec BaldwinStanley Tucci and Selita Ebanks which will be auctioned for the charity.  Just a night before, Moet & Chandon—the official champagne of the US Open —toasted the start of the 2012 US Open at the ultra-exclu 12th Annual USTA Serves Opening Night Gala in the Moet Suite.  Actor Stanley Tucci—still beaming about his recent marriage to Felicity Blunt—was making his rounds through the crowd, while the evening’s most elusive guest, Anna Wintour, held court at a nearby table. Ludovic du Plessis, VP of Moet & Chandon, opened the evening with a celebratory toast, followed by US Open staple Alec Baldwin, who took to the podium and impersonated Ludovic by toasting to the crowd in his best French accent.  smiles..
