CELEBRATING the 139th Kentucky Derby

CATCHING up, southern style.   Celebrating the 139th running of the Kentucky Derby, some familiar celebrity faces wearing major hats came to the occasion on May 4, 2013.   The pouring rain didn’t keep the fabulously flowered from walking the red carpet, and the likes of Krysten Ritter – who has never looked so girly with a lace trimmed flower dress, and Coco Rocha (who got another foot taller) with her ornate flowered pink arrangement accessorizing her lovely face.

Jennifer Hudson and Tom Brady were spotted in Millionaire’s Row, not the red carpet.  The (3 hour) red carpet arrivals of VIP guests,  athletes, and celebrities included Joey Fatone, Miranda Lambert, Star Jones, Jason Biggs, Jenny Mollen, Christian Siriano, Carson Kressley, Jai Rodriguez, Lance Bass, Lauren Conrad, Jason Biggs Tiki Barber, and Coco Rocha.   The event was sponsored in champagne style, with Moët & Chandon celebrating the Kentucky Derby as partner at Churchill Downs for the second consecutive year.

Once off the carpet,  Everyone – even the fashion-forward A-listers – was wearing ponchos to keep them dry, since umbrellas are not allowed at the Derby. All of the ladies switch out their gorgeous heels for flip flops and goulashes. Though it poured the entire day, the rain subsided just in time for the second to last race of the evening – the 139th running of the Kentucky Derby, where Orb took the win.  Here’s a little sneak peak at the guests, with more fdmLOVES faves to come!
