CURATED LUXURY LIFESTYLE FASHION ART and WELLNESS magazine NYC curating good vibes by BRIGITTE SEGURA

Carven Resort 2014

Everyone is simply transfixed with the 60s! Designer Guillaume Henry chose photographs by Malick Sidibé as his source of inspiration for his Carven Resort 2014 collection. Enjoying the easy-breezy feel of 1960s dance culture in Bamako, Henry wanted to possess the same feelings and emotions with these 36 attractive pieces. Laid-back, but elegant, this line is simply irresistible.

A lot of these pieces are cocktail-ish, but a cocktail party outside on the Hamptons beach. They’re sophisticated with a hint of easygoing air. The matching lace skirt suit is exquisite, while the tweed dress includes an added surprise with the plunging neckline. The color pallette is quite unique, mixing bright mustard yellow with pale pink and a touch of chartreuse. It doesn’t look overwhelming, but works as a great accent color. The burnt orange jacket looks stellar with the navy shoulder bag. Those two colors look like they were made for each other.

One of the dresses is a fun botanical print. The added shades make the model look like she’s ready for a futuristic safari ride. The black off-the-shoulders evening gown is killer. It looks like a dress literature heroine Jane Eyre would rock today. There is also a series of linen pieces, where beating the tropical heat wouldn’t be an issue. Casual and diverse, Henry has quite the muse. fdmLOVES CARVEN resort 2014 picks by Brigitte Segura, written by Allison Ripa
