what’s BETSEY JOHNSON up to now
The spirit of fashion is alive and well with the always bubbly miss Betsey Johnson. What’s not to love about young, fun, and fabulous fashion? We’ve been rooting for the revitalization of this label and couldn’t be more delighted with the fun direction it’s going. The veteran designer has debuted a line of dresses for the Spring/Summer 2013 season and in february, returned to Lincoln Center to show a little BJ sass for Fall 2013 during NYFW.
Known for femme silhouettes with a kick, Betsey creates a sexy and cool style that plays with fun and whimsy. She recently states:
“I’m back!!! Doing my dress thing. Pretty and punk, sweet and sexy, always rock n’ roll.”
The beloved designer has adjusted her approach – the dresses will sell at better boutiques, top department stores and through her site online at a price point that ranges from $99 and $249. The brand now carries of a number of products along with fashions to include: bags, footwear, jewelry, eyewear, swimwear, legwear, outerwear, fragrance, and more.
Celeb fans Rosanna Arquette, Patricia Field, Robert Verdi, and Carmen Electra were among many that came out in support of the recent autumn/winter collection. The sportswear slash activewear cool was every bit of the “BJ Kicks A” theme promised. Funky feminine throughout, the grab bag of silhouettes in a kaleidoscope of colors had high-energy written all over it. A performance to close the show with flair, through the years of playful expression, we’ve still got nothing but love for this lady. A handful of models sashayed the runway chatting on cell phones while toting punchy bags before busting out into a work-out routine- equipped with champagne bottles as weights, no less. They rocked cropped hair with urban charm, from top to toenail the happy go sassy package was complete.
