Balenciaga Spring 2014 PFW
Crisp and cool can describe the Balenciaga Spring 2014 collection. Designer Alexander Wang experimented a bit more with his head creator position, and presented a lovely sporty mix of streetwear chic. As mirrors reflected on the catwalk, the models strutted down with easygoing flair. There are some amazing constructed pieces in this set, showing this designer’s immense talent. This role appears to be a good fit as this is an applaud-worthy assortment.
Wearable and relaxing cuts are the main attraction here, along with pristine craftsmanship. There’s a fantastic molded leather piece that’s threaded to look like swirling flowers…clever beyond belief. Plus, there’s a plethora of braided pieces that were obviously done all by hand. The time and meticulousness that went into those looks is astounding. Lots of pieces romantically draw attention to the shoulders, whether bare or dolled up with frou frou details. A gorgeous new style of pants are so fresh with cute peplum on the hips, a favorite for sure. Check out the Video and interviews here.
Evening looks are beautiful with sheer detailing and organza veils, emitting effortless cool. Gorgeously crafted crop tops with laser-printed fabric are also definite standouts here. Take it all in like a deep inhale of chilly air. fdmLOVES BALENCIAGA Spring 2014 selects by Brigitte Segura, written by Allison Ripa. pics to come.
