CURATED LUXURY LIFESTYLE FASHION ART and WELLNESS magazine NYC curating good vibes by BRIGITTE SEGURA

BADGLEY MISCHKA spring 2013

Design duo Mark Badgley and James Mischka have long since had a faithful following. Even so, it was quite refreshing to see some of the younger set out in full force to see the BADGLEY MISCHKA spring 2013 show at NYFW. Front rowers included: Olympic gymnast Aly Raisman, Michelle Trachtenberg, Katrina Bowden of ’30 Rock’ , and Lauren Conrad.

The collection inspired by “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” lived up to the projected imagination. Emerging from a forest backdrop, ethereal elements like airy fabrics, a soft color palette, and whimsy ornamentation descended down the runway. Dreamy draping, flutter sleeves, high-waists, and tapered legs were polished with charm. Brocade, metallic, lace inserts, embroidery and other accents were theatrically charged but refined and classy in finished form.

The braided hair, tamed by Peter Gray for Moroccanoil, was laced with small flowers that complemented the mood. Make-up by Tom Pecheux for MAC Cosmetics and a neutral nail in a shade called Modern Love selected and applied by Deborah Lippmann rounded out the top to toenail fairytale feel. Written by Sarah A.
