Badgley Mischka fall 2013 NYFW
A classic sensibility with a cunning sense of fierce glam brought to us by Mark Badgley and James Mischka. Inspired by the dangerously intriguing ladies of Alfred Hitchcock’s creations, looks were no-nonsense high style. Runway goes red carpet ready – and Alexa Ray Joel, Aly Raisman, Colbie Caillat, Carmen Electra and Petra Nemcova watched approvingly from front row at Badgley Mischka fall 2013 show at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week.
Daytime sophistication with streamlined silhouettes and seasonal suiting textures revealed a down to business influence. The evening shift brought gowns developed for the purpose of drama. With draping that evoked a romantic mystique, décolletage treatments varied with each intended effect. Accentuating with ornamentation at the neck and shoulder added interest, while sheer and lace peeked, and tasselsand bling elements played into an exotic tale of commanding opulence.
Drawing from the theme for hair and make-up too, the characters came to life in a flash. Peter Gray for Moroccanoil captured the look with chignons and an upside down French braid holding a loose heap up top, and make-up Artist Tom Pecheux for M.A.C got into the storytelling with a forties femme twist. fdmLOVES Badgley Mischka fall 2013 selects by Brigitte Segura, Written by Sarah A.
