Soaring through this futuristic urban dystopia brought a neoclassical modernistic outlook with excuberant opulence for the BADGLEY MISCHKA Fall 2012 collection at MBFW. This voyage of deco futurism took the duo to an experimental realm of streamline moderne, spawning up minimalistic geometric shapes in lavishly rich embellished fabrics and swanky fuzzy layers. Inspired by the past and remodeling the future,  the opening  for the show was a mesmerising bronze sequin chiffon metallic gown with elaborate deco shoulder beading,  followed by easy going separates in lush textures of burnished platinum rose, rich jet teal velvets, organzas, and metallic tweeds. The designers once again brilliantly merged their little sister  Mark+James into the show, adding a hip causality to the luminous radiant collection. An arrowhead brocade coat assorted with an iron fretwork jersey top and iron stretch denim jean gave the uptown girl a up-to-the-minute transformation.

Celebrity stylists and fashion editors couldn’t stop inking their  programs with star-studded gowns parading on to the catwalk in short shimmering hourglass outlines and elongated snaky silhouettes. Best actress in a film? Pleaseee, Having the Oscars around the corner, there gold tulle| winter fuzzy vest over a mist lace gown and a rose hammered satin gown will recieve the real Oscar buzz of the night… To close off the show was an FDM fave, the rose tulle lame | architectural jazzy beaded crystal gown.   I took myself on a fancied illusion to a Fitzgerald glam gala schmoozing with the Jean Harlows and Rita Hayworths… Badgley Mischka reinvented the Golden Age for fall 2012.  written by Anthony PedrazaFashionDailyMag fashion + lifestyle in LUXchic..
