artsy FASHION: KOFTA backpack ØDD exclu

A screaming statement bag, versatile for the artsy type…  a new accessory for both guys and girls just appeared at ØDD STORE front .  KOFTA SCREAMING BACKPACK, designed by Konstantin Kofta, is hand crafted using modeled lambskin leather and features a screaming face emerging from the bag. Stop by and get an artsy does, as the the ØDD LES boutique hosts an interactive installation by acclaimed visual artist Jason Akira Somma. Somma, a sort of a visual art anomaly who has exhibited at the Guggenheim Museum and Théâtre National de Chaillot in Paris, collaborated with ØDD to produce an innovative installation that crossed disciplines and defys categorization.

about Konstantin Kofta:  Kofta combines seemingly contradictory elements outside the traditional canons of the fashion industry. His garments are sensual, effortlessly elegant, practical and wearable. Kofta uses rough skin, irregular shapes and unique scents to create a totally new vision of the attire as a whole. Designer Konstantin Kofta combines rural and urban perceptions, and embraces the unintentional and unexpected, which provide inspiration for current and future collections. Each collection appears as a form of art installation.

about  ØDD: Launched in 2011 as a web-based store, then the ØDD concept stepped offline with a storefront bringing avant-garde fashion to 164 Ludlow in Manhattan’s Lower East Side. Owner Judson Harmon, the 21-year old multitasking owner/model/wunderkind behind all things ØDD, debuted ØDD’s first namesake collection during this past New York Fashion Week on February 11th.  The ØDD womenswear collection will arrive in-store alongside a sleigh of downtown’s most coveted designers including Gareth Pugh, Issey Miyake, and Thierry Mugler as the (barely) six-month old boutique transitions into a uniquely experiential avant-garde retail space. Harmon’s brick and mortar space will deliver conceptual designs in a conceptual retail space via not only the designer inventory but also by commissioning a series of continual art installations and immersive experiences within the storefront.
