ANNA WINTOUR joins CHRISTOPHER BAILEY hosting 58th London Theatre Awards

Another fantastic event.. Burberry partnered with the London Evening Standard for the 58th London Evening Standard Theatre Awards held on Sunday. Co-hosted by the fashionable DUO: Anna Wintour and Christopher Bailey joined [Evening Standard Chairman] Evgeny Lebedev, presenter James Corden in announcing The winners of the 2012 Theatre Awards.

The beautiful list included British actors Colin Firth, Dame Judi Dench, Ralph Fiennes, Gemma Arterton, Felicity Jones, the handsomes: Harry Treadaway, Damian Lewis, Jeremy Irvine, and Luke Treadaway.   Burberry campaign favorites at the event included Cara Delevingne, Jourdan Dunn and Rob Pryor along with photographer Mario Testino. The event announced the winners of the 2012 Evening Standard Theatre Awards and included a new category in support of emerging talent in London: the Burberry Award for Emerging Director.  Check out some of the winners and  a select few outfitted by Burberry for the creative occasion amongst the attendees.  [list of categories and winners below photo gallery]

Best Director – Nicholas Hytner
Wins two awards – Best Director for Timon of Athens and the Lebedev Special Award for his dynamic directorship of the National Theatre.

Best Musical – Sweeney Todd

Best Actor – Simon Russell Beale | Stalin in Collaborators

Beyond Theatre – Danny Boyle | London 2012 Olympics Opening ceremony

Best Design – Soutra Gilmour | Inadmissible Evidence and Antigone in the Olivier

Burberry Award for Emerging Director – Simon Godwin for his most recent production, Lucy Kirkwood’s NSFW at the Royal Court.

Best Play – Nick Payne | Constellations.  At 29, Payne is the youngest to win in this category.

Milton Shulman Award for Outstanding Newcomer – Matthew Tennyson | Making Noise Quietly at the Donmar Warehouse

Natasha Richardson Award for Best Actress – Hattie Morahan in NORA, a doll’s house

Charles Wintour Award for Most Promising Playwright – Lolita Chakrabarti for Red Velvet.

Moscow Art Theatre’s Golden Seagull – Dame Judi Dench for her contribution to world theatre.
