CURATED LUXURY LIFESTYLE FASHION ART and WELLNESS magazine NYC curating good vibes by BRIGITTE SEGURA

Ann Demeulemeester Menswear spring 2014

Bordering on whimsical, the designer’s well known stripes are offered in a kaleidoscope of shades in the Ann Demeulemeester menswear Spring 2014 collection. Inspired by the 1800s,  the daring duds will appeal to modern men who aren’t afraid of turning a few heads. Foliage patterns on coats and trousers in velvet adds a delectably dark side to the looks.

At first glance, pink suits in satin are sweet, although paired with combat boots and oversized jackets brings in the Demeulemeester twist. Pushing the limit even further means canary yellow and white kicks that interject a pop of color in an unexpected way. Raising even more eyebrows, rich red stripes stretch over jackets and pants, pumping candy color hues throughout the collection. High collared button downs purposefully peek out from underneath vests and coats, giving a rustled appearance that connects the overall looks.

Taken apart, this collection offers numerous closet staples that will satisfy any guy’s thirst for a long-lasting statement piece. A denim jacket with velvet accents takes an everyday look to the next level, adding a little interest to the lightweight outerwear. While the crisp white coats and trousers blend together for a fresh alternative to the deeper tones throughout the season. Keeping majority of the tailcoats unbuttoned, Ann shows how to unite strength with serenity.
