ALON LIVNE fall 2013 NYFW
In a beautifully bleak post-apocalyptic universe, femme figurines transformed through crystallization. Once breathing, now beautifully frozen jewels imprisoned in a world hung between day and night, dawn and dusk. A little dramatic? We don’t think so! it’s pure fashion poetry to our creative ears. Strikingly fierce is amongst the long trail of words to describe how compelling the Alon Livne Fall 2013 presentation (at the box) at lincoln center this season rocked. At the gutsy age of 22, Alon took spectators into a spiral galaxy where women warriors were the only rulers of a nation of alluring desolation. Swanky black shimmering embellishments of crystals and stones strategically placed to form futuristic geometric shapes that covered all the “right” angles on the female form was only a skill a true couturier can produce. Mystical 3-D sculptural plastic cut-out swirl structures that formed unique scaly textures on some of the surrealistic ensembles played as protective armor wear from the elements.
Having an accelerated background in the couture realm, being trained at Alexander McQueen and appointed to the eveningwear and couture division of Roberto Cavalli, it’s no surprise designer ALON LIVNE has mastered the fine art of classic and modern craftsmanship. Amongst the fab complex decadent chiffon dresses, the collection also premiered super elaborate robust separates tailored to the nines. Darling chic high-waisted trousers were bonded with sheer jeweled sequin tops in visually stimulating patterns that were to-die-for!
The black leggings coupled in a sleeveless top with a shield piece as the back [in a shape of a sting ray] with all kinds of dazzling embroidery and leather panels framed in tribal configurations, was the most insane piece of 2013! The more softer pieces of the collection the charming sheer nude sleeveless shift dress bejeweled in linear motifs, and a long-sleeve over-size blazer with a relax drape lapel paired in slouchy peg-leg transparent trousers were-to-go-to pieces for chic wearability.
Models rocked out in robotic cyborg inspired head pieces courtesy to avant-garde millinery Lorossa; providing this all black assembly with the final protection to survive in this occult world Alon has manifested for us this season. Alon Livné has to be one of the most precious young designers to hit MBFW for 2013. Livne’s style remains luxe glam compounded with ultra-moderne edge with a couture sensibility, and that’s ranking him with the heavyweights darlings!
