A GLIMPSE at PHOTO VOGUE
An Artsy view: The second edition of “A glimpse at Photo Vogue” is coming to Galleria Carla Sozzani. Conceived as a natural evolution from last year’s project, 25 artists will be showcasing 4 images in order to allow a more in-depth acquaintance with their work. The photographers chosen are multi-faceted and open to all forms of photography, from reportage to still life, fashion and architecture.
The poignant and contradictory portraits of Syrian women by the recently awarded World Press Photo winner Sebastiano Tomada Piccolomini sit side by side next to the dreamy and Victorian-inspired atmosphere of Paulina Otylie’s works, Kate Scott’s macro still life photographs, the fairy-tale world of Kirsty Mitchell, the lofty creations of Loreen Hinz, the elegant and rigorous architecture of Fabio Vittorelli to the street photography genre represented by Toru Tanaka, the unconventional portrayals of Billy Kidd and the conceptual ones by Anna di Prospero.
ABOUT: Vogue Italia, committed to support excellence in photography, created Photo Vogue in 2011: this is a section of the Vogue.it website designed to promote the work of photographers (professional and amateur) from all round the world. The way it works : Anyone can upload their photos, but before they’re published they have to be approved by the Vogue.it editorial team under the supervision of Alessia Glaviano, Photo Editor for Vogue Italia and L’Uomo Vogue. Photo Vogue now includes the work of more then 55,000 photographers. There’s also an online platform cementing the partnership between Photo Vogue and Art+Commerce, the prestigious international photography agency that represents some of the greatest international photographers – including Vogue Italia contributors Steven Meisel, Craig McDean, Sølve Sundsbø, Tim Walker and Paolo Roversi. This initiative enables Photo Vogue photographers to increase their visibility and possibilities.
